reinvent your home: one living room, three ways

Find me on:

Transform your living room with smaller accessories!

You know what makes me happy? Knowing you can update the pockets of your home without spending a fortune. It’s honestly the smaller changes that can make the biggest difference anyway, and Lorraine Lea has tonnes of product to help you revamp your space on a budget.

A living room is a prime example of a space that can do with a lift each season, so let me show you how changing up the little things can make a massive impact.

a trip to the Hamptons

I love me a Hamptons vibe, and it’s so easy to pull together. All you gotta do is take your neutral sofa and drizzle it in vibrant blue tones. Think an assortment of both velvet and Harper cushions in indigo shades, paired with a few gorgeous Sana cushions in cream.

It’s the contrast of white and blue tones that makes this look so crisp and invigorating, so don’t be afraid to play with different amounts of both.

On the floor, roll out a Margaret rug, pop some Sigrid vases on your coffee table, and throw in some plants to bring in the coastal vibes. Margaret wall hangings and a Newhaven lamp are right at home in this look too.

Keeping it Fun and Feminine

The sofa, window treatments, flooring and coffee table all remain. All we’re going to do is swap out some of the smaller, more affordable accessories. This is so much fun!

For this look, we’re going girly - the pinker the better! Pop some blush Harper cushions on your sofa, bring in an accompanying throw in the same shade, and don’t forget to stack some velvet cushions on the floor. This look is quite a relaxed one, so feel free to go overboard with the soft furnishings.

A Rachel vase on your coffee table is a nice idea for this look, as is a striking Sabo rug. If you find the look veering toward a pink overload, bring in some mint and white accessories to balance things out a bit.

Making it Feel Moody

If you love your living room to take on a richer, bolder look and feel, I have just the accessories to pull it off.

The first step is to roll out a rug. Both the Malcolm or the Faux Fur Cow Hide will work wonderfully here. They bring with them a sense of depth and cosiness - and they’re so soft you could sit on them comfortably and watch the tele.

On the sofa, it’s time to rock grey and prune tones. And you know it’s all about Harper and velvet cushions! Both come in these more moodier colours and both will inject a sense of romance into the scene.

On the coffee table, think  Ainsley vases in dazzling prune. Side tables will benefit from a Savoy Lamp, and you could even grab a round Juliet cushion from your bedroom and use it out here!

Lorraine Lea has easy updates covered!

Isn’t is great to know you can bring new life to all the pockets of your home without blowing the budget? It’s one of my fave things about Lorraine Lea decor, and every piece is packed with quality too.

Enjoy giving your living room a new lease on life this season, and always remember to think outside the box and grab pieces for your bedroom scenes to rock on your sofa or armchair.
