Cold-climate fashions like boots, scarves and heavy coats provide a stark contrast to summer wardrobe options, and layering-up is a novelty. A trip to the snow is exciting, and even the idea of a whip around the local ice-skating rink sounds appealing. At the beginning, this snowy, grey season seems to bring a wonderland of possibilities.
However, by the time the winter solstice comes around, the year's coldest months become a bit of a drag and we commence the count down to warmer weather.
