when was the last time you went on a holiday?

We all love going on holidays. Whether your preference is for a luxurious beach-side escape or an adventure-filled getaway, taking a break from routine is always a good thing.

Not just for fun, vacations are also an important part of maintaining a balanced lifestyle, and without going on a good holiday every so often, we risk allowing daily stresses and mundane activities burn us out.

It's easy to overlook how necessary it is to take the time to unwind, to disconnect from technology, reconnect with friends and family and allow ourselves the opportunity to focus on our mental well-being.

For most, going on a holiday requires some serious forward planning, saving of pennies and accrual of annual leave. There are, however, companies out there that acknowledge the importance of taking holidays and offer their people the opportunity to go on fully-funded trips overseas every year! (If your business doesn't have perks like this, then trust us, you're with the wrong company).

Earlier this month, Lorraine Lea took 66 of their Leaders to New Zealand for six days of fun, food and frivolity ... and a business success workshop thrown in for good measure.

For some, this trip was the very first time they had boarded a plane and left the country, for others, it was their 15th company-sponsored travel experience.

The opportunity to go on vacation with 65 of your friends doesn't come around that often, and to be further rewarded with things like a scenic helicopter flights to the top of glaciers, 5-star food and accommodation and Queenstown thrill-seeker activities, it's no wonder many say it was the trip of a lifetime. Leaders Retreat 1

"Before going to New Zealand, I had never seen or touched snow before, so to spend one of my days exploring it was amazing. I felt truly honored to be a part of the 2015 Leaders' Retreat." - Robyn Hansen, Team Leader, QLD.

"This was the first time I had ever been overseas and I was so excited that I couldn't sleep for two days before the trip! Even though I'm quite scared of heights, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and went on a helicopter flight, zoomed around on a snowmobile and rode the luge five times! I feel so proud to be a part of a fabulous company. Starting my Lorraine Lea business really has been life-changing." - Belinda Van Abel, Team Leader, VIC

"I've been lucky enough to go along on 11 Leaders' trips with Lorraine Lea, but in my opinion, New Zealand was the best by far! I had the most amazing time away in Queenstown and I loved sharing the experience with a great group of Leaders." - Jeanette Martin, Regional Leader, TASLeaders Retreat 2

"It feels wonderful to be rewarded for our efforts in such a fabulous way. I loved the adrenaline rush of jet boating and also the 5-star dining we enjoyed during the trip. I've been on many Lorraine Lea-sponsored trips, but this one was above and beyond the others!" - Nicole Coghlan, Senior District Leader, NSW

"The whole trip was unforgettable. The helicopter flight was amazing and I made friendships with other Leaders from all over Australia and New Zealand. The memories and experiences I had will last a lifetime." - Jenna Woodall, Team Leader, QLD
